Areas I made growth on were with my writing and critical thinking. Before this semester, my critique was not very much critique, as I didn't want to make them discouraged if I said something wrong, and my writing probably made people gag. My writing skills have enhanced a bit this semester and it helps me a lot with my fanfiction writing as well as other pieces of writing. My critique has improved as well and I know this because now I put more thought into my critique and I give it to them straight (it actually helps them, I think).
3. One thing I learned
One thing I learned this semester that got me thinking was racism. I learned this from the book To Kill a Mockingbird when Tom Robinson had his trial and was wrongly convicted due to prejudice, racism, and not enough evidence. And earlier Sam had a great question whether racism was pushed into our minds or if we were born with it. It struck me and we had a long argument about it. For some reason, it ended as a argument about eagles and ravens fighting... Why would racism exist, what good happens from it, or is it to help with insecurities?
2. Praiseworthy products
Some praiseworthy products I've created were my vocabulary packets and my memoir painting. The memoir project was a project where we choose a significant memory in life, write a detailed story-like writing piece about it, and also paint a portrait with our short, creative name for that memory. This semester, I put a lot of detail into my vocabulary drawings, even though Mrs. Jacob told us that we didn't need to, and I put a lot of effort into it overall. My memoir painting is very detailed and it looks like a nice background for the picture and quote. I put a lot of thought into my painting and I'm proud of what it looks like.
4. My goal
My goal for next semester is to attempt to work with newer people. Usually I would choose people I've worked with before and I want to try something a bit newer. I will achieve this goal by trying to work with different partners for partner/group work and going up to new people and try to befriend them.
